We all know Professor K.T. Pandurangi and are lucky to have seen him. He was an embodiment of knowledge.
He was called Mahamahopadhyaya and revered by all swamijis. He was teacher to the present day Swamiji of Vyasaraja matha, Dr. V.R. Panchamukhi and Prabhanjanachar.
The name Pandurangi came to his ancestors because they stayed in Pandharpur, served Lord Panduranga and earned his grace.
This Pandurangi family has stood the Madhwa community in good stead by their steadfastness in Aachara and Vichara.
Four of them became peethadhipatis of Uttaradimatha and several are tippanikaras.
It is a big list as under:
- Sri Ananda Bhattaraka (1530-1600). He was blessed by Kolhapur Mahalakshmi. He was the author of Nyayamrutha Kantakodhara.
- Sri Srinivasacharya Pandurangi (1560-1630)
Author of Tatvasubodhini, a commentary on Tatwaprakashika. - Sri Narasimhacharya Pandurangi (1568-1631)
Became Peethadhipathi and came to be known as Vidyadheesha teertharu. He is the author of Vakyartha Chandrika, a commentary on Sriman Nyaya Sudha besides other commentaries. - Sri Keshavacharya Pandurangi (1590-1660)
Author of Sudha vaakyaartha vinoda and Bhagavatha tippani and other tippanies.

is the poorvashrama name of the great ascetic Sri. Satyavijaya Teertharu of Arani. His Ashrama gurugalu is Sri. Satyapoorna Teertharu and Satya Abhinava Teertharu is his parama gurugalu.
At Uttaradi math, Chitradurga he installed the moorthy of Sage Rishyashringa and Shantadevi to overcome drought. No sooner, the pratishtapana was done than it began to rain bringing relief and succour to the people.
He blessed Aarani king “Vijayee Bhava” and the King succeeded in defeating the the invader, a muslim king.
It is our misfortune that we have not been able to preserve his writings.
He adorned the pontifical seat from 1726 – 1737.
His ashrama shishyaru is Sri Satyapriya Teertharu and Sri Satyabodharu is his prashishyaru. He attained brindavana on chaitra krishna ekadashi and that place is now known as “Satyavijaya nagaram”. - Sri.Keshavacharya Pandurangi (1680-1760)

He was called Shastra Ratnakara and revered as Pandita Poojya.
He devoted his life for teaching Nyaya Sudha and other granthas. He lived in Hubli. Many people who knew him hold him in high reverence even to this day.
This way Pandurangi family has breathed life into Madhwa community to this day.
